Tex Mex Pasta Taco Mix



Have you ever had Hamburger Helper Taco?   And wonder why it tastes so good when its not really that healthy?   I absolutely loved it when I had it, but too much sodium, sugar, and  honestly I figured it could use more veggies, I wouldn’t eat it all the time, but then again, maybe there is a way to make it and have it be healthier, well there is, and this is my take on it.

Please note we didn’t put a lot of hot spice in it, but please feel free to add more spice, or hot sauce, and personalize it to your taste. 

This is a recipe that we both really enjoyed, and wow I’m here to tell you it is an amazing dish.



Noodles – Just a bag the type doesn’t mater.

Chili Powder

Garlic Powder

Onion Powder

Red Pepper Flakes




Sea Salt

Black Pepper


Cheese – Any thing you want.

Fresh extra lean hamburger

Fresh Veggies – These can be anything that you want to use, tomatoes, peppers, celery, green onion, onion corn, anything you have on hand, but should be fresh.

Step 1

Boil your noodles per directions, then drain then set them aside.


Step 2

Mix your spices with the spices use what ever measurement you want, go light on the salt or leave it out, and don’t go to heavy, some times little is more, and then start to fry your beef in a frying pan until cooked, make sure that you make them as small a chunk as you can, they should be very small, feel free to use some BBQ Sauce, when done set them aside as well.


Step 3 

Cook up your veggies, they shouldn’t be cooked soft, just cooked a bit.


Step 4

Make some gravy, and then put it in with your beef, then add your veggies.


Step 5

Grade up some cheese over your veggie gravy and meat mix.


Step 6

Add the noodles, ix everything up and serv.


This should be a great meal, and will taste great, and easy to make enough for a good party if you want.


Homemade Bread




1 cup of luke warm water

2 table spoons of sugar (You can get away with much less if you want)

Some Salt

1 Half Tablespoon yeast

A stick of butter

2 3/4 cups of flour (Brown or All Purpose)




Yeast Mix

In a small bowl add 1 cup of luke warm water, your sugar, salt and yeast, and mix up up until the mixture is dissolved, and sit it aside.

Flour Mix

In a large bowl put your flour and butter, cinnamon and nutmeg, and give it a good mixing , and then add your yeast mix to it, and start with a blender or do it, it should come into a ball and it will be sticky. but when its done transfer it to a container and put a clean cloth over it and let it sit for 90 minutes.


After 90 minutes take it out and start folding it over and over for about 5 minutes, now grease your bread pan with some oil or use parchment paper, so its not too sticky when you take it out.  and then put into a bread pan, making it fill it as best you can, then put the cloth over it again and let sit for another 45 minutes.


Pre heat your oven to 350 degrees, and put the bread into the oven for 36 minutes.


When its out let it cool for a bit, slice it up then wrap it in to tin foil, or however you want to do it, it should last a week and should be quite tasty.
